Kinja'd!!!

I noticed that Consumer Reports tested an Optima and it didn’t have the super-bling front vents. Apparently they realized they could offer both the Korean “MX” and “SX” front ends in the US too instead of treating us like we hate choices. Still can’t get the tri-cluster fog lights though.

Kinja'd!!!

Now, only the sport trims with the 2.0T have the sporty front end now. Notice all the US images, advertising, and auto shows never display the models below the SX trim, since we weren’t supposed to get the front that will now be a majority of the Optimas on the road.

I guess Euro can expect to receive the SX grill since I think you guys were only going to get the MX front end that matched the Sportspace Concept.

Kinja'd!!!

Much like the Mazda6 and Fusion/Mondeo, the US won’t be getting the Optima Wagon. Someone will eventually realize that all they need to do is add a minimum of two inches of ground clearance and AWD for these wagons to sell in the US.

Let’s keep complaining and maybe Kia will stop putting 1990s chrome on all their wheels and trim pieces.
